About Me
I started my career in education as a teaching assistant many years ago in San Francisco, California. I loved being in the classroom so much, that after a short time teaching in a private school, I returned to college to get my teaching certification at San Francisco State University. I then taught elementary school in the Bay Area for several years.
Soon I was fascinated by the ability of some children to learn so easily and by the struggle that learning posed to other children. After working as a math mentor teacher and a reading specialist, I decided to combine my skills in the area of special education. I started teaching middle school while I worked on my special education cerification and my master's degree.
For years after earning my master's degree in special education, I worked as a resource specialist and a special education teacher in kindergarten through grade 8. My best experiences have been in collaborating with amazing general education teachers who are passionate about inspiring all of their students to do their very best.
I am fortunate to have moved to Texas in 2007 and to have joined Eanes ISD in 2012. When I'm not working, I am camping with my two sons boys, hiking and swimming at Barton Creek, or trying out a new recipe with my family
